Studying Fashion at University, Daisy specialised in digital media and online consumer psychology, laying the vital foundations upon which her growth in the online world would be built.
After graduating she worked in creative agencies, within teams at in-house fashion brands, and on specific activations and events for global brands, such as Pernod Ricard, Nasty Gal, and Diagio.
In 2019, Daisy quit her job after finding frustration in the lack of down-to-earth, real, and human advice available for those trying to find their way in the world of digital marketing and social media.
With a fire in her belly and an undeniable enthusiasm to support others in finding their voice on social media, she went on to found The Selfhood. The company was born to teach business owners and creatives how to share their talents and promote their work online, in the most actionable and authentic way.
The main premise of The Selfhood is that it aims to make URL interactions feel just as human as IRL ones.
Using funny tongue in cheek videos, memes, and vibrantly designed interactive content, Daisy shares the know-how on building meaningful communities and connections on social media with business owners, creators, students, and creatives, far and wide.
Clients and collaborators of The Selfhood range from tech companies, such as Microsoft, Meta and Adobe to mental health charities, such as Mind, and the business has supported over 150 independent businesses in the last year alone.
Even outside of working hours, Daisyβs support of those within the creative industry doesnβt stop.
Dedicated to helping young and aspiring creatives find their feet in the industry, Daisy supports students as a guest lecturer at universities such as the University of The Arts London and the Fashion Retail Academy, whilst also continuing to connect with her online community, sharing honest, friendly, and unfiltered advice across The Selfhoodβs social media channels.
Eager to found a sense of community in real life, as well as in the digital world, Daisy also runs her own sell-out community-centric events and has even partnered with like-minded business and therapy platform, The Selfspace. Together with The Selfspace, Daisy has delivered workshops designed to support creators when it comes to protecting their mental wellbeing and bringing awareness to their creative thoughts and visions when navigating the online space.
Recognizing that making connections IRL and away from the world of work is vital when it comes to supporting wellbeing and fostering creativity, Daisy also started a netball team for women looking to make new friends in London, which has been a huge success and continues to grow.
Daisy also shares her insights openly and candidly, as a public speaker. Whether she is interviewing world-renowned artists for Soho House, delivering creativity focused workshops for Lost Village Music festival, or sitting on panels and events in various venues and digital spaces, Daisy aims to not only be an informative educator, but an empowering voice, guiding individuals and businesses in the digital sphere.
Supporting the need for a more frank and honest conversation about navigating the career highs and lows that everyone inevitably goes through, Daisy launched the podcast, βThat Feeling Whenβ¦β, with her two co-hosts, Stefanie Sword-Williams and Poonam Dhuffer, which has made it to number 7 in the Spotify business charts, less than 2 weeks after launching.
Above all, Daisy is credited for her friendly, energetic, sincere, and unique approach to educating and entertaining her community and has been praised for her innovative content concepts and projects.
